A Study on the Relationship between the Frequency of Toothbrushing Instruction

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to emphasize the importance of hygiene control, as identifying the relationship between frequency of toothbrushing instruction and change of major oral microorganism in saliva.
The subjects consisted of the 120 elementary school children aged 10-13 years old and devided control group, group of single toothbrushing instruction, group of repeated toothbrushing instruction 4 times at every 4 weeks, group of mouthrinsed
with
0.2%
NaF solution after repeated toothbrushing instruction 4 times at every 4 weeks. The saliva samples were indices and PHP indices were examined.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. There was no remarkable decrease of number of lactobacilli in all test groups.
2. The number of S. mutans decreased moderately in group of repeated tooth brushing instruction 4 times.
3. The PHP was improved in group of repeated toothbrushing instruction 4 times.
